Plastic can take hundreds of years to degrade. Often, they get smaller and smaller until they become microplastics, which are now everywhere. It is very harmful to marine life, contaminates our food, and pollutes our oceans.

There are currently an estimated 75–199 million tons of plastics in our oceans. That’s why Dots.Eco has partnered with trusted organizations like Oceans Integrity, Plastic Fischer, Plastic Bank, See Turtles, and others to help clean the ocean and prevent more plastic from reaching open waters.

Our partners work with local river and coastal communities, giving them incentives or hiring them to help collect plastic or build floating barriers. Plastic is then sorted and recycled. Our partners’ efforts cover inland collection to prevent plastics from reaching ocean-bound rivers, coastal beaches, and river clean-ups, as well as ocean clean-up efforts.
